You should be applying this EVERY day.

At college, I stumble across every type of student: The health junkie. The junk food junkie. The skin care activist. Those actively avoiding skincare.

College breeds stress, causes little sleep, and keeps the Keurig running. All factors for dry skin. I cannot speak for everyone when I say this, BUT...A fair amount of people are missing a staple - moisturizer. Walking across campus, I often notice dry, scaly skin behind makeup. The foundation sits in the creases, rather than smoothing over the skin.

Golden Tip

Exfoliate once a week and moisturize EVERY day. Exfoliation removes dead skin cells so that the moisturizer can work more effectively. The American Academy of Dermatology both recommends exfoliation and provides a guide.

Apply moisturizer every morning and evening. Before putting on your makeup in the morning, allow the moisturizer to sink into your skin for at least 10-15 minutes. After washing your face in the evening, apply moisturizer again. Make sure that the product is targeted for your face, as body lotions can include fragrances or oils that cause irritation or acne.

Favourite Products

Good Things Manuka Honey Cleanser - Perfect for winter, this cleanser contains manuka honey and royal jelly. It is super hydrating, rich in amino acids, and hands-down my favourite face wash!

Clinique Moisture Surge - This product is on the pricey side but lasts me for at least 6 months! Having a gel-like consistency, the moisturizer contains aloe to fight any redness.

Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Scrub and Moisturizer - Again, follow the above guide regarding exfoliation, BUT these products will help eliminate dark spots. The moisturizer contains a non-scented SPF 15. Best of all, they are more cost-effective and available as a duo at Target!
